Welcome to Inspired Movement Academy! We are excited to have you as part of our dance family. To ensure a positive, safe, and productive environment for all dancers, families, and staff, please review the following studio policies.

Dress Code
Dancers must wear appropriate dance attire for each class. We don’t require a dress code during summer.

● Leotard and tights for ballet classes - any color or style, but no gymnastics suits

● Form fitting athletic wear (leggings, tanks, shorts, etc), tights, and leotards for jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, etc.

Hair should be secured away from the face.

● Bun for ballet

● Ponytails or braids

● Short hair must be pinned or styled back to keep it off the face during class.

Proper dance shoes are required for each style.

● Pink Ballet shoes for ballet

● Tan Jazz shoes for jazz (Company will be decided at a later date.)

● Black Tap shoes for tap

● Black & white Hip Hop shoes

● Half soles for lyrical/contemporary.

Boys Dress Code

● Plain colored shorts, t-shirts, tanks, muscle shirts. No prints unless IMA merch.

● Black ballet shoes

● Black jazz shoes

● Black tap shoes

● Black hip hop shoes

No jewelry, watches, or gum during class.

Studio Etiquette

● Respect for instructors, classmates, and studio staff is expected at all times.

● Only water in sealed containers is allowed in the studios.

● Mobile phones must be silenced or turned off during classes.

● All dancers are expected to clean up after themselves. This includes putting away personal items, tidying up any messes, and ensuring that their belongings are properly stored in designated areas.

● If you are waiting in the lobby for a class to begin, we kindly ask that you keep noise to a minimum to maintain a quiet and focused environment for all dancers.

Parent Etiquette at IMA

At IMA, we strive to create a positive and respectful environment for all students, staff, and families. We kindly ask that parents and guardians follow these guidelines:

● Respect the Space: Please remain in designated areas during class times. If you’re waiting for your child, kindly keep noise to a minimum and avoid disruptions.

● Be Supportive: Cheer on all dancers, not just your own! We encourage an atmosphere of encouragement and mutual respect for all students.

● Respect Class Time: Please arrive on time to drop off and pick up your child. If you need to speak with an instructor, we ask that you email Miss Whitney.

● Kindness is Key: We ask that all parents and guardians maintain a courteous, kind demeanor both in and outside the studio. A positive attitude makes a difference! We appreciate your support in keeping IMA a welcoming, respectful space for all. Thank you for helping us create a great environment for every dancer!

Lobby Policy

We do not currently have a parent lobby. Our future lobby space will temporarily be used as a dance studio while we are under construction. Because of this we kindly ask parents drop their dancers off at the front door and wait in their vehicles during class time. We will provide a small designated seating area with a few chairs for dancers who might struggle being in a classroom setting, but unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate multiple parents or siblings at this time. Beginning January we plan to have our lobby open.

IMA Drama Policy

At IMA, we are committed to maintaining a positive and focused environment for all our dancers. To ensure a healthy and supportive atmosphere, we ask that outside drama be left outside of the studio. This includes conflicts or distractions that may arise between students, parents, or other outside factors. We believe that every student deserves a space where they can focus on their growth, creativity, and enjoyment without external disruptions. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a drama-free environment that prioritizes respect and teamwork.

Attendance
● Consistent attendance is essential for dancers progress and class cohesion.

● Please arrive no earlier than 10 minutes to allow time for changing and our little dancers to use the bathroom before class starts.

● If a dancer will miss class, please notify the studio in advance via email: inspiredmovementacademy@gmail.com

Involvement in Other Sports for Company Dancers

Consistent attendance is essential for progress at IMA. If a dancer is regularly unable to attend due to another activity or sport, we require that this be communicated in advance. In cases of ongoing conflicts, private lessons will be scheduled to ensure the dancer keeps up with class material. These private lessons will incur an additional fee.

Class Cancellations

● Class cancellations due to weather or emergencies will be announced via email and our social media platforms.

● Makeup classes will be scheduled when possible.

Fee’s, Tuition, & Payments

To streamline our billing process and ensure timely tuition payments, we require all families/students to have a valid card on file. In cases where parents are separated or divorced, one parent must be designated as the primary account holder and cardholder. This individual will be responsible for all tuition payments and related charges. We cannot split payments between multiple cards or accounts. Any financial arrangements between parents must be handled privately; we are unable to manage or mediate split payments.

● First months tuition is due at sign up to hold your child’s place in class.

● A non-refundable registration fee is required for participation in our school year program. $25 for 1 child, $15 for 2nd child, $10 for 3rd child or more. These fees help cover administrative costs and secure your child’s spot in the program.

● Monthly tuition is due on the 1st of the month for our school year program.

● If you prefer to pay by cash or check, we kindly ask that payment be submitted by the 25th of the month prior to the start of the upcoming month. This helps us ensure timely processing for all accounts.

● Any accounts not paid by the 5th of the month will incur a $20 late fee.

● A $30 fee will be charged for any returned or dishonored checks. This fee covers bank charges and administrative costs associated with the returned payment.

● All accounts must be paid in full by the third week of each month. Dancers with unpaid balances after this deadline will not be permitted to participate in classes until payment is received.

● When registering for classes, you are committing to the entire season. If you wish to discontinue classes, a written notice must be sent via email to the studio by the 20th of the month in order to avoid being charged tuition for the following month.

● IMA will have a Spring Recital in May, that will require a costume purchase. Costume prices will be released in October.

Refund Policy

At Inspired Movement Academy, tuition is non-refundable once payment and registration have been completed. This policy helps us reserve your dancer’s spot in class, plan for instructors, and keep class sizes limited for the best experience.

We encourage dancers to attend their registered class before making any decisions, as many find they enjoy it more once they participate.

Safety & Liability

● While we do our best to keep classes safe and fun, IMA can’t be held responsible for any injuries that might happen during class or studio activities. By joining our classes, you (or your child) understand and accept that accidents can happen.

● A completed and signed waiver must be on file before participation in any class.

● Please inform IMA of any injuries, allergies, or medical conditions.

● IMA is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Please label all your items and take home all belongings after class.
